Burberry Prorsum

Burberry's influential heritage in military outerwear lends itself well to all sorts of fashion ambitions, and Prorsum was the project that repositioned the label firmly in the hyperluxury sector. Under Roberto Menichetti (1998-2001), the line proposed a minimalist interpretation of English outdoors clothing, interjected by biker and hunting elements. Garments from this initial period of Prorsum are rare and, in our view, highly influential. Under Christopher Bailey as designer (2001-2013), Burberry Prorsum became known for hypertailored shapes, experimental materials and impeccable craftsmanship. Garments from this period merge traditional concepts with cutting-edge research and truly set Burberry apart in the oversaturated luxury market.
