A genuine pioneer possessing the rare ability to 'summon a world of his own in the most unexpected circumstances', Raf Simons is regarded as one of the most innovative designers of the '90s and '00s. His sharp tailoring and subculture-inspired streetwear shaped the trajectory of contemporary menswear; likewise, his collections for Jil Sander (2005-2012) brought a transgressive eclecticism to womenswear that re-framed minimalist sophistication for the 21st century. Since then, besides working on his eponymous mens' line, Simons has been creative director at Christian Dior (2012-2015), Calvin Klein (2016-2018) and co-creative director at Prada.
