Miu Miu's S/S 2005 collection showcased the label's typical nonchalant looks. This time, however, there was a novel focus on psychedelic and religious iconography, mainly appropriated from Eastern cultures and 1960s Hippies. Tim Blanks writes:
'The giveaway was the first shirt on the Miu Miu catwalk, the one with the big magic mushroom. Perhaps Miuccia Prada herself had had a little nibble, because what followed was positively psychedelic. ... Miu Miu has always represented a certain spirit of reckless youth and freedom for Prada—and this season she took that attitude on a trip. ... [The] Huge eyes of an Eastern deity [were] staring out from chests and backs. ... It's all about borrowing from any time, any place, to give vital character to clothing—and what a character the Miu Miu man will be!'
This T-shirt features one of the season's signature motifs, a wide-eyed deity with Indian characteristics. The decoration is applied in the form of an oversize screenprinted cotton patch on the upper back. On the chest, a nylon knit badge featuring the Miu Miu logo adds a quirky point of interest. The fabric is medium-weight cotton jersey with a washed/faded look, and the silhouette is relaxed with a crew neckline.
