1997 Deconstructed Belted Car Coat in Polished Lamb Leather
Size IT 38; women's S or XS.
CoSTUME NATIONAL belted leather coat from A/W 1997. Made in Italy.
In excellent used condition with minor signs of wear.
This fantastic coat is a rare find from CoSTUME NATIONAL's A/W 1997 collection. It exhibits Ennio Capasa's typical precision, interjected with biker and 1970s-inspired features that set CoSTUME's tailoring well apart from their contemporaries.
The coat's pockets create a subtle, abstracted composition of shapes: A curvilinear flap adorns the left chest, while the waist is defined by two high-positioned pockets with rectangular welts. Instead of buttons, the front fastens with fabric-covered hooks-and-eyes secured by visible diagonal stitching. The collar has an oversize Western shape and the sleeve cuffs are finished with tall concealed zippers. The back has a tall single vent. A thin belt completes the directional design.
The coat is crafted from luxurious lamb leather with a polished finish. Its barely perceptible fine grains give it an even surface, accentuated by precise topstitching throughout the piece. The interior has a single pocket and is fully lined in quilted viscose satin for increased insulation.
