Jean Colonna floral lace T-shirt from S/S 1996. Made in Italy. In excellent used condition.
This T-shirt is a typical example of Jean Colonna's simple-but-complex design ethos. The silhouette is streamlined, with a fitted body and cap-length sleeves. Reinforced horizontal seams across the lower torso lend a feeling of structure, with the distance between each of them increasing exponentially towards the bottom.
The piece is crafted from a cotton & elastane knit lace with considerable stretch. Like many of the materials favoured by Colonna in the '90s, it has a retro/camp aspect that contrasts with the clubwear-fitted silhouette. Its dense floral pattern is placed against a transparent mesh base, creating a nice play between opaque and see-through that comes to life when the piece is worn.
