Helmut Lang metal belt from the A/W 2004-2005 collection. In excellent used condition. Made in Italy.

This statement accessory demonstrates Helmut Lang's ability to merge subcultural forms with traditional tailoring techniques and experimental materials. His transgressive use of contrasting styles often produced iconic accessories like this belt, which combines a punk-inspired aesthetic with the razor-sharp modernism that characterises his formal designs. One of the A/W 2004 collection's signature accessories, it was featured in numerous runway looks and the advertising campaign.

The belt is made from a finely woven silver metal chain. Its construction is extremely precise and the links are so finely interwoven that the material drapes like fabric when touched or worn. As a result, it can be comfortably worn as a bracelet. Despite its intricate construction, the piece is constructed exactly like regular belts with a rectangular buckle, four notches, a loop and an angular tip inspired by cowboy belts. An additional plaque is engraved with a subtle Helmut Lang logo. All hardware is silver plated and its sharp geometric lines lend a refined minimalist aesthetic to the piece.

This unique accessory is quintessential Helmut Lang in its severe aesthetic, high quality construction and innovative materials. We think it would look at its best with a well cut black suit and a white shirt, whether worn as a thin belt or bracelet.
