CoSTUME NATIONAL cracked leather jacket from the mid-to-late 1990s. Made in Italy.
In excellent used condition with minor signs of wear.

This striking jacket is a rare find from an unidentified mid-to-late 1990s collection. It exhibits Ennio Capasa's typical precision, interjected with Western elements. The piece is crafted from heavy calf leather with a high-contrast 'cracked' finish. To achieve this look the leather is dyed white, then coated with a glossy black layer that is distressed to partially reveal its original colour. Its substantial weight gives an armour-like structure to the piece, and it will break in like an old motorcycle jacket over time.

Capasa's eye for proportion is evident in the jacket's details. The front fastens with three buttons placed high above the waist, leading up to a large spread collar. The Western yoke's angular shape is offset by a precise horizontal seam across the waist. There are two waist pockets with rectangular welts, and the sleeves have workwear-inspired two-button cuffs and a single pleat. The interior has a single pocket and is fully lined in quilted viscose satin for increased insulation.
