CoSTUME NATIONAL fine wool trench coat from S/S 2001. Made in Italy.
In excellent used condition.

Ennio Capasa's work often displayed an affinity for 1970s rock 'n roll tailoring while maintaining modern proportions and sharp lines. This balancing act between restraint and swagger is quintessential CoSTUME NATIONAL.

This unusual trench coat is crafted from finely woven 85% wool & 15% silk fresco, a smooth and luxurious fabric. Strong white stitching creates high-contrast outlines throughout the piece. The front has a concealed double-breasted closure, leading up to a sharp point collar and overlaid by gun flaps on both shoulders. The belt is fastened with two fabric-covered buckles, while the sleeve cuffs have rounded tabs. The back is finished with a large yoke and a single vent.

The coat's finishing is very well executed. The lapels' facing (interior side) is  constructed using a compact 72% cotton & 28% nylon fabric, with precise bar tacks securing its fastening sections. The back is partially lined in viscose satin and there is a zipped interior pocket.
