Size 31: Best for a 32" waist.
Balmain quilted biker jeans from A/W 2012-2013. In brand new condition without tags. Made in Japan. RRP: £689
Biker trousers are one of Balmain's most popular transeasonal pieces, with Christophe Decarnin's innovative experiments being responsible for transforming biker-inspired jeans to highly covetable luxury objects. While making a strong statement Balmain jeans are also very well cut - slim in the right places for an elongated silhouette that is very sharp without looking excessively skinny. Unlike Balmain's classic ribbed panels, this pair features a rectangular quilted pattern on the knees and waist. This detail was exclusive to A/W 2012 and is much sturdier, as it features padded reinforcing.
As to be expected by Balmain's mainline, the quality of these jeans is exquisite and much higher than standard designer jeans. The fabric is a robust heavyweight Japanese denim, which is by far the best denim fabric we have ever handled. While being substantial and strong, it is also very pleasant against the skin and has a very nice organic texture. The jeans have been washed and hand distressed, giving refined steel blue accents to the indigo fabric. The detailing of the jeans is quintessential Balmain, with the maison's signature zipped pockets on the front and back and a sharp articulated construction that follows the lines of the body on the knees. The front features features double reinforcing and closes with a chunky Lampo zipper and a double hook-and-eye closure. As mentioned earlier, the quilted areas on the knees are actually padded like real biker trousers for added structure. All zippers are Italian-made Lampo, and feature oversized polished pull tabs.
Overall, the attention to detail of these trousers is exceptional, with everything from their detailing to the construction being top notch. Their substantial fabric and impeccable finishing ensure that they will be worn for years, to age wonderfully with wear. Balmain's directional biker jeans have have defined contemporary fashion, and they will undoubtedly become a cherished possession for years to come.
