1999 Sartorial Sport Jacket with Zipper Details in Cavalry Twill
Size IT 50; men's M or L.
CoSTUME NATIONAL zipped tailored jacket from A/W 1999. Made in Italy.
In excellent used condition.
This directional jacket is a good example of Ennio Capasa's forward experimentations with mens' tailoring. Its biker-inspired closure and metal zipper detailing make it more sportswear than tailoring. At the same time, its restrained proportions and traditional construction lend it a sense of formality and tradition.
The jacket has an off-centre double breasted closure with a concealed zipper, leading up to a sharp point collar. The torso is constructed with a short yoke, and a zipped chest pocket has been impeccably inserted between the two panels. The shoulders are slightly structured and finished with precise topstitching. The sleeves have wool knit cuffs; a congruous addition to a rather unconventional design. The back is finished with a single vent.
The piece is crafted from 100% virgin wool cavalry twill fabric. Its high-twist fibers give it a robust and wrinkle-free finish that complements the design's linear precision. The interior has a single pocket and is fully lined in viscose satin.
