Raf by Raf Simons technical blouson from S/S 2007. In excellent used condition. Made in Italy.

This jacket is a reissue of this design from Simons's seminal S/S 2005 'History of the World' collection (pictured). Being part of the Raf by Raf Simons S/S 06 diffusion line, this version has been produced under completely different conditions from Raf Simons's main brand. Still, its craftsmanship and detailing are of the same high standard as mainline pieces. 

The design is a streamlined take on classic mid-century Harrington blousons, with a zip closure and a low funnel neck that secures with a rectangular velcro patch. The front has diagonal side pockets with large welts, while the cuffs have rectangular tabs with that also secure with velcro. Gathered panels on the cuffs and waistband with thick elastic reinforcing complete the piece. The silhouette is slim-fitting with Simons's typical narrow shoulderline. The sleeves are fitted and are constructed with seams on the front of the arms, achieving a more anatomical shape.

Like the 2005 original, an interestingly curated selection of fabrics adds depth to the streamlined design. The shell is densely woven fine polyester with a resin coating that gives it a smooth, water-resistant finish and a pronounced sheen. The black fabric's surface changes from matte black to metallic depending on light. The interior is fully lined in technical mesh, further reinforcing the piece's sportswear aesthetic. Finally, a chunky contrasting zipper engraved with the Raf logo adds subtle detail. Overall, the construction of this piece is of a very high standard and this is evident in its precise and uncluttered finishing.

A versatile and easy to wear piece, this jacket will complement a variety of outfits. While its sharp silhouette and interesting fabrication make it an ideal piece for spring, we believe it would also render itself well when layered under heavier outerwear.
